Ryan-
I would use reflection to look back at the past few years that I have spent at UCF and the work that I have accomplished and completed. I never thought I would graduate and I have had so many great experiences like working at the Ritz Carlton and a few others. I can use this in putting together my E-portfolio in which all the information that I gather and put in it will reflect on what I have done in the past 4 years at UCF and the things I have completed. In my opinion I think that Reflection is how you feel towards something and you reflect on different things. How do you all reflect on your E Portfolios?
I would use reflection to also look at what I have gone through in that past eight years! I've had so many experiences in the different colleges I have attended. I learned from each experience and grew as a person. Besides being in college for so long, I did take a few years off here and there so I would be able to work. Now that I'm older, I'm working and going to college. It's a lot harder than I thought it would be, however I think it will make me a stronger person in the end. I look back at what I've accomplished and gone through as a positive experience with a lot of bumps in the road...but I'm almost there! One year left. Or as I like to say, 2 1/2 semesters, it just sounds better (or easier). :)
ReplyDeleteReflection is different because it really makes you look back on what you've done in the past 5-10 years. It makes me think of how far I've come since my freshman year at FSU. I remember sitting on the porch with my mom maybe 2 years ago trying to decide if I should go back to Valencia or not...and now I'm here at UCF! It's amazing to me how time flies. I know the future is going to be even more amazing.
Strange to think in a since but as I am getting older I tend to reflect more on my experiences in life. Just yesterday I was looking back at where I was a year ago and how I told myself that I was going to go back to school and finish 2011 with a degree! I am now accomplishing that goal slowly but surely and realizing how much I appricate my education. I have reflected on my past travels and career choices and now realize exactly the type of "lifestyle" I want and what it will take for me to get there.
ReplyDeleteReflection is a understanding of your feelings, desires and contemplation of one's self. Oberving our inner thoughts and seeing the outcome of the now. Looking back and think of what has been complished and/or taking a detour. Just yesterday I wrote on my facebook a bit of reflection.."crazy how things turn out, crazy how things change, crazy how you realize what's reality and what's pretend."
I know now is my time to sculpture out my future and it's my desire to succeed in my upcoming life events! I know time is going by fast and I don't want to waste a minute of it!
Reflecting is looking back on all your experiences, for better and worse, and remembering how they affected you. Every decision and experience is a learning opportunity, and it’s up to us to capitalize on them. It’s never good to dwell on mistakes we’ve made, but realizing how things went wrong can insure a positive outcome should the same, or similar, situation arise again.
ReplyDeleteLooking back on these last couple years in college, it seems like yesterday I was questioning whether I was going to be able to make it through the program at Valencia. Now here I am with a little more than one semester to graduate with a Bachelors Degree. It’s easy to look back at my mistakes now and see what I did wrong, but as they were happening it was easy to lose sight of my goals. I can use this to motivate myself in the future, and not just see the short term effect of a decision but the long term effects as well.

I believe that reflections are looking back in your life remembering all the things you have done over the years, and deciding whether you have grown from it. Not all reflections and memories are good but they don't all have to be. Most of the time you learn more about the situation and more about yourself if you do something incorrect. Everybody likes to look back on good memories because it makes them feel happy but at the same time you must look back and understand what you have done wrong, in order to correct it in the future.
ReplyDeleteLooking back on the last three years it feels like it has gone by extremely fast. When you're young nobody ever believes their parents when they stay time flies, until it's gone. Throughout my time at UCF I can remember a lot of things that I can build on in the future. For example procrastination, every student procrastinates one time or another. But in the real world you can never procrastinate if you do your out of a job. I will use the knowledge that I have collected over the past three years and use it to my advantage in the future.
